Simple And Convenient Installation
All SIMATIC S7-1200 hardware has built-in mounting clips for easy mounting on a standard 35 mm DIN rail. These built-in mounting clips snap into an extended position to provide mounting holes when backplane suspension mounting is required. The SIMATIC S7-1200 hardware can be installed vertically or horizontally. These features provide flexibility for users to install PLCs and make the SIMATIC S7-1200 ideal for many applications.
Integrated Profinet Interface
The integrated PROFINET interface is used for programming, HMI communication and communication between PLCs. In addition, it supports communication with third-party devices via the open Ethernet protocol.
The interface has an automatic crossover cable (auto-cross-over) function. RJ45 connector, providing 10/100 Mbit/s data transfer rate, supporting the following protocols: TCP/IP native, ISO-on-TCP and S7 communication.

The SIMATIC S7-1200 controller has up to 6 high-speed counters. 3 of the inputs are 100 kHz and 3 are 30 kHz for counting and measurement. The SIMATIC S7-1200 controller integrates four 100 kHz high-speed pulse outputs for speed and position control of stepper motors or servo drives. (using PLCopen motion control commands) All four outputs can output a pulse width modulated signal to control motor speed, valve position or duty cycle of heating elements. SIMATIC S7-1217C supports 6 high-speed counters, 4 of which support 1MHZ, support PWM/PTO and support 1MHZ output.
