    2022-07-15

There’s nothing in the world that’s truly difficult—if only we’re willing to climb. In 2021, faced with recurring epidemics and challenges from the market environment, all employees of Zhengda Machinery & Electronics responded to the call of the Party and the state by fighting the pandemic, boosting consumption, and expanding markets. While supporting the entire society in its fight against the epidemic, Zhengda employees pressed forward with courage and determination, achieving historically groundbreaking business results.

To summarize the achievements of the past year, look forward to 2022, and comply with the policies and calls of the Party and the state, from January 11 to January 22, 2022, Zhengda Machinery & Electronics held the grand “Re-launching in 2022, Striding Toward the Future—Zhengda Machinery & Electronics’ 2021 Year-End Series of Events” through a combination of online and offline formats. This event consisted of four main components: year-end training, the annual sports meet, a year-end sharing and summary conference, and a Spring Festival gala.

    I. Year-End Training Series

From January 11 to 21, the year-end training series organized by Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. was carried out in a tense yet orderly manner. The program included presentations by the 21st cohort of college students, internships for the 22nd cohort of college students, the first-phase onboarding training for new employees in 2022, and seven themed training sessions. Nearly 30 instructors, including President Wang Zhenghu from Foshan Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. and General Manager Lin Yi from Lingyi Industrial Co., Ltd., worked together seamlessly to deliver a series of engaging courses to the employees.

On January 11, 15 interns from the Class of 2022 reported for duty, and nine university students from the Class of 2021 were also scheduled to present their annual growth reports on the same day. Attending the “Growth Report for the Class of 2021, Welcome Ceremony for Newcomers of the Class of 2022, and Welcome Gala Dinner” were Lian Chan-huan, General Manager of the Siemens Motor Division at Zero One Industry; Lei Yu-qiang, Director of the Human Resources Department at Zhengda Machinery & Electric; Sun Xiao-gang, Assistant to the General Manager at Zhengda Automation; Huang Li, Assistant to the General Manager; Meng Xiang-lu, Director of the Human Resources Department at Zero One Industry; and the mentors who provided onboarding guidance. The nine university students from the Class of 2021 shared and reported on their one-year journey since joining the company. We still vividly remember their initial naivety and youthful inexperience when they first arrived at Zhengda—but now, during their reports, they’ve already demonstrated confidence and vigor! Meanwhile, the interns from the Class of 2022, as they listened to their senior colleagues’ reports and participated in the welcome ceremony and subsequent exchanges, gradually became familiar with the company’s training system. Afterwards, the interns embarked on a free-style exploration of “The Beauty of Foshan” and “The Mechanical and Electrical Market.” Following that, they moved on to intern at the logistics center. The week passed quickly, yet everyone left enriched and fulfilled. In beautiful, promising Foshan, batch after batch of university students are stepping into the future full of hope.

On the afternoon of January 16, the first session of the 2022 new employee onboarding training officially kicked off. The interns engaged in a comprehensive “synchronized” exchange and learning experience with a total of 68 new colleagues—both from various departments and joining online and offline. This training covered a series of topics, including the company’s history and corporate culture, exchanges between new and veteran employees, insights shared by team leaders, logistics, etiquette, and marketing operations. Not only did it help everyone gain a deeper understanding of the company’s basic situation and business processes, but it also enabled participants to develop a more profound appreciation and resonance with the company’s culture. During the closing session, Yang Guang from the Investment and Development Department shared: “I’ve traveled many paths before finally meeting CP Group. Standing here today, I’m truly grateful to CP Group for giving me this opportunity to become a member of the CP family. I’m also deeply thankful to the company for providing us with this training, which has allowed me to meet so many interesting people. Through the sharing sessions led by our outstanding senior colleagues—who drew on their own experiences to offer valuable advice—they’ve helped us smoothly transition into our roles as new employees and integrate more quickly into the work environment. Their various pieces of advice gave me the feeling that ‘they’ve been through the rain themselves, so they want to hold an umbrella for us.’ It really touched me deeply.” Wu Qianqian from Xi’an Zhengyi Long shared: “The workplace etiquette Ms. Hua talked about isn’t just beneficial in our professional lives—it’s also enhanced our civility in everyday life. For example, when taking the elevator, we now ask whether those waiting inside need to come in; when walking, we consciously keep to the right side to avoid collisions... All these small actions help us adapt better to society and make us even more outstanding!”

The onboarding training not only helps everyone align with and embrace the company’s culture, injecting motivation and confidence into new employees as they integrate into the company, but also charts a clear path for their future career development.

From January 20 to 21, training sessions were conducted on a variety of topics including finance (Level 1/Level 2), quoting and negotiation, the Internet of Things, and system management. Nearly 1,000 people participated in these sessions. Through this series of training programs, business personnel have enhanced their professional knowledge and improved their overall business capabilities. Ms. Yan Xiaoyu, Manager at Chengdu Nengda, shared with participants an immersive case study that vividly illustrated the process of price negotiations. She provided insightful analysis of the customer’s rhetoric and behavior in the case, continuously offering valuable insights to help everyone successfully win “price negotiation battles” and gain substantial benefits. Mr. Shen Guohui, CEO of Mushroom IoT, delivered a presentation titled “Empowering OEMs with the Wings of the Internet of Things,” guiding participants to understand “device digitalization” and broadening their industry perspectives.

During this period, led by President Wang Zhenghu of Zhengda Machinery & Electronics and General Manager Lin Yi of Zero One Industry, the company’s senior executives engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanges on various topics, including the current state of the market economy, industrial digitalization, and future risk management. President Wang shared his experiences from the Shanghai trip and the “Step into Zhenkunxing” event, recounting Professor Xin Rong from CEIBS’s insights on corporate digital transformation during the activity and encouraging everyone to broaden their global perspective. Yan Shenghui, Assistant to the General Manager at Zero One Industry, who accompanied the group, shared his personal takeaways from the Zhenkunxing event, emphasizing the positive changes that digital transformation has brought to enterprises. Meanwhile, General Manager Lin delivered a sharing session on the inaugural class of the “Digital Leadership Academy,” jointly launched by Siemens and the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University. The session showcased key aspects of industrial digitalization, and it is believed that over the coming year-and-a-half of study, participants will gain access to even more cutting-edge information on the digital economy, guiding Zero One toward its journey of digital transformation and upgrading. Chen Songwen, Director of the Finance Department at Zero One Industry, conducted a “Level-3 Financial Training,” focusing on financial expertise related to operations and risk management.

We believe that after this period of training, the esteemed participants will surely gain a great deal and achieve tangible improvements in their theoretical competence, work performance, and mindset!

From January 24 to 26, the company will also organize an annual report session for participants of the four talent development cohorts. We look forward to seeing more talented individuals shine!

II. The 9th Annual Sports Meet Section

To enrich employees’ lives, foster their enthusiasm for sports, enhance their physical fitness, and promote the positive, enterprising, and courageous spirit of Zhengda’s employees, the 9th Annual Sports Meet was officially held on the afternoon of January 21 after more than a month of careful preparation.

This year’s sports event continues the principle of balancing competitiveness with fun that has been a hallmark of previous events. In terms of sport selection, we’ve retained three popular activities: the energetic basketball game, the endurance-testing plank challenge, and the fiercely competitive tug-of-war. Meanwhile, some of last year’s hit events—such as jump rope, checkers, 24-point game, and the two-person-three-leg race—have also been kept on the roster. Additionally, we’ve introduced several new, easy-to-learn and highly engaging activities, including balloon back-hugging and sandbag throwing. This year’s event also features an innovative points-based reward system: participants can collect stamps to redeem prizes, which greatly boosts everyone’s enthusiasm. With the dual appeal of lighthearted, fun games and generous rewards, everyone is eager to get involved and give it their all!

(A Collection of Highlights from the Headquarters Fun Sports Meet)

Meanwhile, the sports events in the outer districts are in full swing. Activities such as ball-tossing races, table-tennis juggling, jump rope, three-legged races, and charades have attracted enthusiastic participation from many employees in the outer districts.

    Chengdu Division

Outdoors, four teams are competing in a two-person three-legged race. To ease the discomfort caused by the leg restraints, the participants are supporting each other to maintain their balance, shouting slogans as they take steps forward with great effort!

(Chengdu Division: Friends are playing the three-legged race game on an open outdoor square.)

    Wuxi Division

Unlike the Chengdu division, most of the sports events in the Wuxi division are held indoors. Colleagues from the Wuxi division have successively participated in indoor activities such as table tennis juggling and ball-carrying races. Notably, in the table tennis juggling event, Wu Yuhui, Deputy General Manager of Wuxi Lingdian, took the lead over other competitors with an impressive score of 415 juggles in just two minutes.

(Wuxi Division: Colleagues are practicing table tennis juggling in the conference room, their expressions serious and their eyes fully focused.)

    Dongguan Subdistrict

On the basketball court, players from two teams representing different business units made their appearance—teams from Dongguan Dasheng and Dongguan Zhengyi Sheng. This marked their first official matchup on the court in nearly a year. At the sports meet’s friendly basketball tournament, the competition between the two teams was fiercely intense, with the score constantly neck and neck as neither side was willing to fall behind. In the end, the Dongguan Zhengyi Sheng team emerged victorious, defeating the Dongguan Dasheng team 35-24 to claim the ultimate triumph in the friendly basketball match.

(Dongguan Division: The Dasheng Team and the Zhengyi Sheng Team compete in a friendly match.)

    Changsha Subdivision

On this chilly winter day, our colleagues in Changsha remained full of enthusiasm and actively participated in the sports meet. Among the events, rope skipping, ball-carrying relay races, and the "two people, three legs" race were particularly popular with our Changsha colleagues. Xie Xi from Changsha Lingyi took first place in the rope-skipping event at the Changsha venue with an outstanding score of 188 skips per minute. Meanwhile, Chen Yusong won the ball-carrying relay race, and Li Tanmin and Li Junguo formed the winning team in the "two people, three legs" race.

(Changsha Division: Snapshots of our teammates participating in sports activities)

Among the many individual activities, the most eye-catching was young Liu Zihan, who excelled in the plank challenge. As last year’s winner of the plank challenge, she successfully defended her title this year thanks to her remarkable perseverance!

(The photo shows the site of the Zero One Science and Technology Park’s plank support project.)

In team sports, the 3-on-3 basketball and tug-of-war competitions have become the most popular events, attracting widespread attention. In the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, after three days of intense competition—including round-robin matches and playoff rounds— the park’s basketball team emerged as the champion. Meanwhile, the Siemens basketball team, composed of members from Siemens’ business division, and the Automation Basketball Team, made up of members from Zhengyi Automation, both put up a strong fight and secured second and third places, respectively.

(A photo from the 3-on-3 basketball tournament held in the park)

Unlike basketball games, which emphasize competition and teamwork, tug-of-war places greater emphasis on mutual support and collective effort among team members. The spirit of collaboration and relentless perseverance of the teams is vividly showcased in tug-of-war competitions. This year’s tournament saw a succession of strong contenders, each arriving with fierce determination and aiming high for the championship title. In the final showdown, Siemens Motor Business Unit emerged victorious, narrowly defeating all other teams to claim the championship; Mingchen Industrial Team took home the runner-up spot, while Zhengyi Automation Team secured third place.

(A scene from the tug-of-war competition held in the science park)

The allure of sports never lies in the competition for rankings; rather, it resides in inspiring everyone to actively and joyfully exercise and improve their physical fitness. It is precisely through everyone’s active participation that each sports event comes to life, allowing the charm and value of sports to spread to an even wider audience, enabling more people to appreciate and experience them.

Amid a golden shower of celebratory cannon fire and amid the cheers of the crowd, the 9th Games came to a successful close!

III. Year-End Sharing, Summary, and Awards Ceremony

With the resounding sounds of gongs and drums and a dazzling display of lions, the joyous lion-dancing performance kicked off the 2021 year-end sharing session—“Re-Starting, Racing Toward the Future”—at 8:50 a.m. on January 22.

The main venue for this year-end sharing session is located on the 4th floor of Zero One Science and Technology Park at our Foshan headquarters. Through a combination of online and offline presentations—featuring showcases and inspiring stories from our nine subsidiaries and branch offices—we’ll be sharing with all Zhengda employees the achievements and joys of 2021. This marks the first time that the Zhengda annual conference has included a morning sharing session, serving as a warm-up for the afternoon year-end summary meeting. All the videos presented at the sharing session were produced by the teams themselves, each with its own distinct style—some youthful and lively, others calm and professional, and still others uniquely creative. Yet without exception, they all radiate an enthusiastic spirit of diligence, positivity, and energy, vividly showcasing the vibrant, self-improving, and ever-striving spirit of the Zhengda team members.

Next, President Wang outlined the work directions for 2021 at the individual, corporate, and national levels across three key areas: strengthening organizational capabilities by leading the team, ensuring continued stable development while guarding against risks, and preparing for the convening of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party. Finally, President Wang expressed gratitude toward the successive generations of national leaders who have led us to stand tall, become prosperous, and grow strong; he also expressed gratitude toward the nation, his colleagues at the company, society, and this inspiring era that spurs us forward.

Following this, leaders at all levels of the company held a grand awards ceremony to honor individuals and teams that exceeded their targets, star-rated general managers, and outstanding new hires. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the company and its various business units renewed their 2022 operational responsibility agreements. The exciting moments of signing these agreements were pre-recorded and shared live at the meeting. Meanwhile, this conference featured a carefully curated video compilation—created collaboratively by the company’s 26 subsidiaries, branches, and departments—titled “Demonstrating Our Team’s Determination.” This video collection vividly showcased the remarkable strengths and unwavering commitment of each team and every employee! We also selected and rewarded the best videos from among them.

Accompanied by the lively rhythm of dragon drums, the 2022 Spring Festival Gala of Zhengda Machinery officially kicked off in grand style.
