Bravely Scaling New Heights and Steadfastly Moving Forward—The 3rd Training Session for Zhengda Mechanical & Electrical Reserve Cadre Class

Bravely scaling new heights and forging ahead with determination—From December 3 to 5, 2021, 44 trainees from the Reserve Cadre Class of the Talent Development Program gathered at Meilu Lake in Gaoming to participate in the third training session of the Reserve Cadre Class, a 2.5-day program. This training session was divided into four parts: outdoor mountain climbing, thematic training, trainee sharing sessions, and a golf experience.
I. Outdoor Mountain Climbing Section
The training kicked off on the afternoon of December 3 at Gaoming Zaomu Mountain. The participants gathered at the base of the mountain and embarked on a hiking activity together.

Shaomu Mountain is known as “Foshan’s Highest Peak.” Reaching the summit requires climbing 6,666 steps—a challenge that still poses a fair degree of difficulty for climbers. Nevertheless, the trainees were all highly enthusiastic and eagerly declared their intention to make it all the way to the top. Due to construction work, however, they could only manage to climb halfway up the mountain. Throughout the climb, even when they felt tired and their feet began to ache, everyone persevered and refused to give up. Along the mountain path, there’s a milestone every 600 steps; these milestones serve as small, achievable goals, constantly motivating the trainees to keep moving forward.

After an hour of climbing, the trainees reached the scenic overlook platform located halfway up the mountain. After taking a short break, they posed for a group photo here, capturing this beautiful moment in time.

II. Thematic Training Section
On the morning of December 4, Mr. Lian Canhuan, General Manager of Siemens’ Motor Division, delivered a lecture titled “Self-Awareness.” During the class, Mr. Lian shared his personal experiences to illustrate how to effectively shift among different roles, and he elaborated on the qualities and competencies that a leader should possess. He provided detailed insights into the professional conduct expected of subordinates, common challenges encountered in interactions with colleagues and effective communication strategies, as well as the responsibilities of a supervisor. During the break, participants summarized that when facing a problem, one should first treat oneself as an independent individual and regard all other relationships as “clients”—this approach can double one’s effectiveness with half the effort.

In class, the participants engaged in group discussions based on case studies provided by the instructor and actively exchanged ideas with the instructor.

On the afternoon of December 4, Director Huang Xuehua from the ZeroOne Industrial Office took to the stage to guide and enlighten the participants with a lecture titled “Details/Achievements,” delivering one insightful remark after another. “All relationships are built on the premise of solving problems.” From sharing real-life case studies to exploring how to understand customer preferences and communicate more effectively with others, she demonstrated standards, warmth, and excellence, imparting a variety of practical techniques to the participants. Each participant was encouraged to actively engage in case analysis, making the entire training session not only informative but also deeply engaging and heartwarming.

III. Student Sharing Section
After a day of intensive training and learning, each participant came away with plenty to take home. At the sharing session on December 5, the participants freely expressed their thoughts and organized what they had learned during the training into PPT presentations, which they then shared with their fellow trainees. Director Huang Xuehua, General Manager Lian Canhuan, and Human Resources Manager Meng Xianglu successively provided comments and suggestions on the participants’ presentations. Overall, the participants reported that they had greatly benefited from the training and expressed their intention to apply the insights and lessons learned from this experience to their daily work in the future.

IV. Golf Experience Section
After the thematic learning and training session, the participants also headed together to the Yin Hai Golf Club, where they got a taste of golf’s magical allure. For most of the participants, this was their first time experiencing the sport of golf, and they were filled with curiosity. Under the careful guidance of the coach, everyone gradually mastered the proper grip and swing techniques. Their shots improved dramatically—from initially missing the ball altogether to hitting distances of 50 meters, then 100 meters, and some even reaching as far as 150 meters. This hands-on experience livened up the atmosphere and broadened everyone’s horizons. Many participants expressed great joy at having learned so many fascinating facts through participating in such an activity.

This training provided participants with an opportunity to exchange ideas together, and everyone gained many new insights from it. Practice is the sole criterion for testing truth. I hope that in our future work, we can put what we’ve learned into practice and achieve success on our career paths.
