Building Dreams Together for a Brighter Future—Foshan Zhengda Machinery & Electrical Co., Ltd. 2021 Mid-Year Summary Meeting

In July, the blue sky is crystal clear, and the cooing of pigeons rings out brightly;
In July, the landscape is picturesque, and flowers are in full bloom;
In July, colorful flags flutter and laughter fills the air.
2021 marked the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Party and also represented a new milestone for Zhengda Machinery & Electronics.
From July 21 to 24, Zhengda Machinery & Electronics held its 2021 Mid-Year Meeting and training workshop at the Shangri-La Hotel in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province. The event consisted of three main components: a summary of the first-half-year work, training sessions for the “Gezhi & Senior Manager Class” and the “Reserve Manager Class,” and a “Red Tourism” excursion.
The participants split into two groups and converged in Nanchang. The advance team departed on July 17, 2021, kicking off their red-themed journey. The main group arrived directly in Nanchang on July 21, gathering at the beautifully landscaped Shangri-La Hotel, where they held their mid-year gala dinner at 6 p.m.

I. Mid-Year Summary Meeting Section
At 6:30 a.m. on July 22, Wang Zhenghu, President of Zhengda Machinery & Electronics, led all the participants in a morning run along the Ganjiang River bank in Honggutan, savoring the fresh morning air and stunning scenery of the Ganjiang.

At 8:30, the mid-year summary conference officially began. Nearly 80 key employees—including general managers and heads of subsidiaries under Zhengda Machinery & Electronics, participants of the Gezhi & Senior Manager Program, participants of the Reserve Manager Program, heads of functional departments at headquarters, Party members, and other designated personnel—attended the conference.
The meeting was officially opened to the sound of the solemn national anthem.

First, Mr. Lin Yi, General Manager of Guangdong Lingyi Industrial Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a work summary for the first half of the year. In his review, Mr. Lin highlighted the company’s achievements over the past six months, fully recognizing those teams and departments that had exceeded their targets. He also provided an overview of Lingyi Industrial’s current development status and outlined the challenges ahead. Furthermore, he presented plans, measures, and goals for the next phase of work. Quoting President Wang Zhenghu’s remark—“Achieving a happy and fulfilling life for all employees is the company’s ultimate goal”—Mr. Lin encouraged all departments to rise to the occasion and forge ahead with determination.

Following that, seven benchmark departments delivered reports and shared their experiences. They included Ouyang Gui’an, Deputy General Manager of Foshan Bearing; Lin Chubo, Deputy General Manager of the Siemens Business Unit; Hu Qiuyuan, Deputy General Manager of Zhengda Automation; Huang Pingsheng, Sales Manager of Dongguan Dasheng; Wang Hailong, General Manager of Xi’an Zhengyi Long; Zhang Junjing, General Manager of the Investment and Development Department at Zhengda Mechanical & Electrical; and Zhang Yanjie, General Manager of Chengpu Financial Services. Each representative presented a report on their work during the first half of 2021 and shared their outstanding experiences. We witnessed that every achievement was made possible by the hard work, relentless efforts, and proactive spirit of Zhengda employees; every bit of excellence is the result of their sweat and dedication.

In the afternoon, President Wang led everyone in a discussion of Kazuo Inamori’s book, “The Heart.” Practicing what he preached, President Wang set an exemplary example by sharing his own life wisdom with the group. Drawing on his personal experiences, he explained Kazuo Inamori’s values as well as the company’s core cultural principles. President Wang’s insights resonated deeply with everyone, sparking meaningful reflections on work, life, and even child-rearing.

The essence of serving society lies in altruism. Initiatives such as the “2002 Shareholding System Reform,” the “Next-Generation Development and Public Welfare Fund,” and the “Learning and Growth Fund” all embody this spirit of altruism—precisely what President Wang has consistently advocated and practiced himself. As President Wang puts it, “Only by pursuing the happiness of all employees and enabling them to feel a sense of fulfillment at work can we truly inspire their motivation to move forward.” Whether in our work or in our personal lives, we must always start from a place of altruism, live fully in the present moment, strive to enjoy our work, and lead healthy, happy lives.
II. Training and Study for the “Gezhi Class & Senior Manager Class” and the “Reserve Manager Class”
On July 23, a team of trainers—including General Manager Wang, General Manager Lin, General Manager Lian, and General Manager Peng—conducted training and exchanges separately for “General Managers, Heads of Functional Departments, and Party Members,” the “Gezhi Class & Senior Manager Class,” and the “Reserve Manager Class.”
General Manager Wang: Let’s further discuss our insights from studying Kazuo Inamori’s “The Heart,” and we plan to organize representatives from the company’s three employee groups—senior, mid-career, and young—to establish an “Employee Handbook Revision Committee.” This committee will revise the Employee Handbook with a focus on enhancing employee benefits.
General Lin: “Team Management.” A company is just like a person: senior leaders are like the brain, mid-level managers are like the waist, and frontline employees are like the legs. For a person to run steadily and swiftly forward, the waist must work in unified coordination—receiving instructions from the brain and then executing them accordingly. As for how to strengthen the company’s “waist,” General Lin shared his own experiences with the participants in the class, teaching them how to excel at team management. Through games such as “Crossing the Electric Grid” and “Drill on the Battlefield,” participants were able to personally experience the essence and importance of team management, and General Lin guided them on how to apply these lessons in their daily work to enhance team collaboration skills.

General Peng: “Time Management” — This session explains the core elements and methods of time management. At its heart, time management is about self-management. Combining this principle with individual circumstances, we’ll teach you how to organize your work using the Four-Quadrant Method, helping you prioritize tasks based on their urgency and importance. Participants will put these methods into practice, reorganizing their own work processes and significantly improving their efficiency.

General Lian: “Delegation and Motivation”—starting from team building, this session clearly outlines the qualities and competencies that a qualified leader should possess. Through rational and effective delegation, leaders enable their subordinates to achieve goals. General Lian shares key points and important considerations regarding “delegation.” In terms of “team motivation,” General Lian explains the relationship among “needs, motivations, and behaviors,” drawing on both historical examples and contemporary insights, and adopts a multi-faceted approach to help participants deepen their understanding and enhance their ability to absorb the material.

On the evening of the 23rd, the "Gezhi Class & Senior Manager Class" held group discussions for knowledge sharing and exchange. The "Reserve Manager Class" held elections for its class committee and signed a student covenant.

On July 24, the final day of this mid-year conference, participants from the "Gezhi Class & Senior Manager Class" and the "Reserve Manager Class" shared their insights and takeaways from this learning experience. Participants were required to fully articulate their key learnings within a set time limit. This exercise not only tested their ability to absorb and internalize new knowledge but also challenged their public speaking skills and time-management capabilities. During this sharing session, participants learned from one another, engaged in active interaction, and came away with rich rewards.

At 12 noon, the sharing session came to an end, bringing this mid-year meeting to a close. Everyone gathered together, united in thought and aligned in goals, engaging in a deep exchange about the company’s culture. We heard insightful reflections from General Manager Wang on “the heart,” as well as high-quality lectures delivered by instructors including General Managers Lin, Peng, and Lian. We’re confident that everyone left this meeting enriched and fully equipped with new insights.
As the company continues to grow in size, its demands on managers are also increasing. We believe the future holds many challenges ahead, but we’re also confident that Zhengda Machinery & Electronics will keep moving forward and achieve even greater success as it strives toward higher goals! III. The Red Journey
Before and after this mid-year meeting, the company arranged two tours aimed at celebrating the Party’s 100th anniversary. While experiencing the red history, these tours also enable employees to “admire majestic peaks, climb to lofty summits, and broaden their horizons.”
Before the meeting, a group of participants boarded a bus to embark on a “Red Tourism” journey! The bus route took them through Ruijin in Jiangxi, Jingdezhen, Jiuhuashan in Anhui, and Lushan in Jiangxi.
Ruijin: the "Red Capital," the cradle of the Republic, the former headquarters of the Party Central Committee during the Soviet Area period, and the world-famous departure point for the 25,000-li Long March of the Central Red Army from Yunshishan Mountain.

Lushan Scenic Area: The Flower Path, where flowers are in full bloom and the green grass is lush and inviting. Within it lies Bai Juyi’s Thatched Cottage, offering a glimpse into the elegant charm that has endured through the ages.
Jinxiu Valley—thousands of cliffs vie in splendor, and myriad ravines wind and twist; sheer cliffs are naturally formed, and stone forests stand tall and graceful.

Nanchang August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall: Experience the deep bond of mutual dependence and harmonious integration between the People's Army and the people, as well as the courageous spirit of the soldiers—sons and daughters of the people—who bravely stand up for the common folks.

After the meeting, 11 people—including colleagues from the company’s HR department and Chengpu JinFu Group—along with their family members, continued along the “Red Road” once trodden by the pioneering troops. While enjoying the picturesque waters and lush mountains of Nanchang and Lushan, they also immersed themselves in the revolutionary spirit that embraces both family and country.
