Touring Moutai, Savoring Wine, and Discussing the Future—Exploring Zunyi: Remembering Hardship While Appreciating Sweetness—2020 Lecturer Appreciation & Siemens Product Line Planning Meeting

To express our gratitude for the selfless contributions and hard work of all our instructors in talent development at Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. in 2020; and at the same time, to further respond to the nation’s call to boost domestic demand, align with the company’s strategic plan, and jointly envision a bright future for ZeroOne Industrial Company, particularly as represented by Siemens product lines—
From October 16 to 19, a group of 20 people—including Lin Yi, lecturer at Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Lingyi Industrial Co., Ltd.—visited Maotai to sample wines, discuss the future, and explore Zunyi to reflect on past hardships while savoring present sweetness.
On the 16th, everyone departed on five different routes—Foshan, Dongguan, Xi'an, Changsha, and Chengdu—and took flights or high-speed trains followed by buses to make our way to the Yangliuwan Boutique Hotel in Maotai Town. After the dinner banquet, we strolled along the banks of the Chishui River, enjoying the illuminated night views, watching the fountain show, and listening to our friends share insights into the “sauce-aroma” culture—truly a delightful experience.

On the morning of the 17th, the eight members of the lecture group first visited the Moutai International Hotel. They then followed the Chishui River upstream, crossed the “internet-famous bridge,” and climbed the steps to reach the Monument to the Four Crossings of the Chishui River. Afterwards, they delved deeper into the Four Crossings of the Chishui Memorial Hall to learn why these crossings were so significant and how invaluable Moutai liquor was at the time—especially given the scarcity of supplies—in helping to treat wounded soldiers. Standing before the Monument to the Four Crossings of the Chishui River and looking out into the distance, one could see the beautifully arranged houses on the opposite bank, creating a truly picturesque landscape.

In the afternoon, we watched the large-scale live-action performance “Tian Niang,” which celebrates the thousand-year-old sauce-aroma culture of Moutai. Lasting about 60 minutes, the show unfolds through the narration of an elderly man, taking us on a journey across five distinct scenes—“Heaven’s Gift,” “Heaven’s Revelation,” “Heaven’s Path,” “Heaven’s Encounter,” and “Heaven’s Banquet.” Each scene is brought to life using cutting-edge high-tech techniques, creating an incredibly immersive experience that transports visitors into a fantastical realm, leaving them utterly amazed. Particularly memorable was the fourth scene, where intricately shaped red curtains gradually rose, accompanied by the “Original Red Map.” This visual spectacle not only sparked boundless imagination but also prompted profound reflections: Is life truly like a play, with each moment unfolding as a live broadcast? Can we achieve our desires without regrets or remorse? The fifth scene then pushed the entire performance to its climax, plunging every audience member into a moment of soul-searching: Life is like a river—whether shallow or deep, we must cross it all; we raise our glasses to the heavens and sing aloud, weaving poetry and wine into a tale of elegance and charm; each flower reveals a world unto itself, and each cup holds the universe within; in life, a single cup of wine offers a full spectrum of flavors. This is my “Tian Niang”—but what about yours? It turns out that throughout our lives, each of us is ultimately crafting the very drink we most cherish.

Meanwhile, the 12 participants of the Siemens product line planning meeting gathered in a hotel conference room to enthusiastically discuss the future and jointly chart a course for development. Peng Jinsong, General Manager of Zhengyi Automation Company, You Rongzhu, General Manager of Dongguan Dasheng, and other heads of the FA and GMC product lines, as well as Lian Canhuan, General Manager of the Siemens Motor Division at Lingyi Industrial Company and head of the LVM product line, each presented their plans for sales growth over the next three to five years. Together, they engaged in brainstorming sessions, lively discussions, and exchanges of ideas. General Manager Lin pointed out: “Don’t let today’s resources limit your thinking about future development. We must adopt a broader perspective, ensure that all units align on a common vision, and take a long-term approach. Let’s provide strong support to our sister units in other regions, such as Changsha, Chengdu, and Xi’an.”
On the morning of the 18th, all participants jointly visited the former site of the Zunyi Conference to reflect on past hardships and savor today’s sweetness, revisiting the arduous journey that led to the revolution’s victory. In particular, they reflected on how, under the relentless pursuit of Kuomintang forces from the outside and amid the damaging influence of “leftist” errors within, the Communist Party of China managed to break through encirclement, unify its ideological stance, achieve a triumphant rendezvous, and accomplish a life-or-death turnaround.

On the afternoon of the 18th, the group split into two teams: all participants in the plenary session will sample “Tian Niang”; other members are free to engage in their own activities.
On the 19th, everyone visited the Maotai Distillery and, drawing on the educational insights provided by the tour guide over the past few days, gained a deeper understanding of the mystery behind the “12987” method used in making sauce-flavored liquor—namely, one production cycle per year, two additions of ingredients, nine rounds of steaming and cooking, eight rounds of fermentation, and seven distillations.
Let’s raise our glasses and enjoy the moment, savoring wine while chatting about the future. Red tourism lets us recall the hardships of the past and appreciate today’s sweetness—enriching our perspective. Never forget our original aspirations; keep our mission firmly in mind. Together, let’s set off once more! Happiness is earned through hard work—the harder we strive, the luckier we become!
