The harder you work, the luckier you get—2020 Mid-Year Financial Meeting

    Time:

    2022-07-15

From July 24 to 25, 2020, all financial staff from Guangdong Lingyi Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, together with invited guest Gao Feng, Senior Financial Advisor at Lingyi Industrial, gathered in Dongguan to hold the 2020 Mid-Year Financial Conference in a grand ceremony. The event consisted of three main components: visits and exchanges among Dongguan’s subsidiaries, professional skills training and discussion sessions, and a team-building activity featuring an experience tour of the Songshan Lake Scenic Area.

    I. A Visit and Exchange Report on the Dongguan Subsidiary

To gain a better understanding of the operations of various subsidiaries under Zhengda Machinery & Electric Co., Ltd. in the Dongguan region, on the morning of July 25, 2020, the Finance Department organized all finance personnel to visit and exchange experiences at Zhengda Datongde Bearing Co., Ltd. in Dongguan, the Zhengyi Sheng Business Unit of Lingyi Industrial, and Dongguan Dasheng Automation Equipment Co., Ltd.
At 9:30 a.m., we first arrived at Zhengyi Tongde. General Manager Liu Yi warmly introduced the financial staff to Tongde’s core business and its development journey, giving us a deep sense of the courage and challenges faced by the headquarters as it expands into overseas regions through its subsidiaries.
Next, all the finance staff arrived at Tian'an Digital City and were led by Manager Li Jiajin on a tour of the Zheng Yi Sheng Business Unit. From its interior design style to the company’s motivational slogans, the Zheng Yi Sheng Business Unit has completely replicated the corporate culture of the headquarters, allowing us to feel that the headquarters and its subsidiary are one unified entity, inseparable from each other.

Finally, we arrived at Dongguan Dasheng. Manager Huang Pingsheng introduced us to Dasheng’s core business and guided us on a tour of the office premises. Dasheng is one of the three key pillars of ZeroOne Industry. Both its business and technical teams are steadily growing—especially the technical team, which places great emphasis on youthfulness and professionalism. This gave the financial staff present a deep understanding of Dongguan Dasheng’s relentless efforts, its commitment to technological innovation, and its determination to “Sheng” in service. During this on-site visit, our finance colleagues realized that the company’s growth would not have been possible without the dedication, courage, and professional expertise of the ZeroOne team members. For each individual, it’s even more crucial to continuously enhance one’s professional skills, always embracing the company culture that “the harder you work, the luckier you’ll be,” and closely following the company’s pace to achieve common progress together.

II. Discussion on Professional Skills Training

On the afternoon of July 25, 2020, the 2020 Mid-Year Financial Meeting was solemnly held in the conference hall of the Aloft Hotel in Songshan Lake, Dongguan. The meeting began with a welcoming segment, during which new colleagues Peng Weiyun and Chen Jiali introduced themselves around the theme “Let Others Get to Know You.” Both new colleagues expressed their great pride in joining the big platform that Charoen Pokphand represents, and sincerely thanked Charoen Pokphand’s leadership for the growth opportunities provided, as well as all their colleagues for their support and assistance, which have enabled them to integrate into their work more quickly. The addition of these new employees has brought renewed hope and vitality to the entire Finance Department.
Next, Gao Feng, a senior financial advisor from ZeroOne Industrial, will lead our training session on “Comprehensive Cost Management.” The course content primarily helps us clarify the concept of cost and, in light of our company’s development of the disc plant business, introduces common issues and solutions in cost management. It also provides a detailed explanation of commonly used cost-control methods, tools, and their applications. Moreover, Mr. Gao emphasized that our company should continue to move toward strategic cost management. Our company mainly engages in agency trading, but we have begun to explore opportunities for moving into production and processing. Based on the principle of integrating operations and finance, Mr. Gao’s training instructs financial personnel to enhance their professional capabilities, thereby assisting the company in effectively conducting cost accounting in our new business areas and growing together with the company.

In the second half of the meeting, Finance Manager Chen Songwen shared “Zero-One Industrial Audit Issues.” Manager Chen highlighted the issues identified during the audit process and emphasized that all finance staff must pay close attention to work details, gain more hands-on experience with actual business operations, and maintain a high level of vigilance. Manager Chen also shared real-life audit cases, guiding everyone to think critically about the issues raised in these cases and discuss possible solutions. It’s the details that determine success or failure—every colleague must perform their duties diligently and steadily enhance their ability to identify problems, raise questions, and find solutions, thereby helping the company reduce operational risks.

Finally, General Ledger Accountant Zhang Yingqiong shared her insights on “Case Discussion.” Zhang Yingqiong presented two questions raised by General Manager Lin during the cross-departmental training: How do we calculate the cost of capital? And what factors should be considered when pricing products? What factors need to be taken into account when stocking inventory? Colleagues at the site engaged in lively discussions in small groups around these two questions. During the discussion, everyone approached the issues from a business perspective, carefully examining the factors that influence pricing and inventory management. Participants thought creatively and brainstormed freely. Through this process, they gained a deep appreciation for the challenges faced by business personnel—balancing customer needs with business risks. As finance professionals and support staff, we must closely align ourselves with actual business operations, conduct comprehensive analyses, and serve as a strong logistical backbone supporting the business departments.

III. Team-building Experience at Songshan Lake Scenic Area

On the morning of July 26, 2020, everyone was invited to get up close with nature by taking part in a team-building hike in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, helping to ease the tension accumulated since the pandemic began, release work-related stress, and foster a spirit of collective collaboration. Set against the backdrop of a bright summer morning, participants were relaxed and joyful, enthusiastically joining in with laughter and cheerful chatter.

Through this meeting, everyone has come to deeply realize that whether it’s the company’s growth and expansion or the enhancement of individual capabilities, we must all put forth no less effort than anyone else. Only by continuously improving our professional skills and truly achieving integration between business and finance can we keep pace with the company’s progress and the times. The harder we strive, the luckier we’ll be!
