Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. 2019 Instructor Team Celebrates Their Trip to Beijing

On October 14, President Wang traveled to Beijing to experience the splendid sights following the 70th-anniversary celebrations and personally witnessed the grandeur and modernity of Daxing Airport.
At 6:30 a.m. on November 22, a group of six lecturers from Zhengda Machinery & Electrical Co., Ltd. departed from Shadi Airport in Foshan to Beijing Daxing International Airport (hereinafter referred to as “Daxing Airport”). Officially put into operation in September 2019, Daxing Airport has been hailed as the “Seventh Wonder of the World.” With its distinctive design—a “steel phoenix”—and advanced construction techniques, the airport has set four new world records and broken numerous domestic firsts.
At noon, we took the Daxing Airport Express Business Class train to Caqiao, where we experienced the airport’s high-tech rapid rail system—capable of reaching speeds up to 160 kilometers per hour. (Daxing Airport features a three-line integrated transportation hub, combining highways, light rail, and subway.) Afterwards, we checked into a traditional courtyard residence in Xin’anli Hutong, just a five-minute drive from Zhongnanhai.
In the evening, thanks to the warm hospitality of General Manager Wang Hailong, we enjoyed a lavish feast of Beijing’s most authentic Peking duck at Siji Minfu.
At 5:00 a.m. on November 23, we set off for Tiananmen Square to watch the flag-raising ceremony. Amidst the solemn sound of the national anthem, the Five-Star Red Flag slowly rose above Tiananmen Gate. After the ceremony concluded, we stood proudly in front of Tiananmen Gate and sang “My Motherland and I” at the top of our lungs. Perhaps this was one of the craziest things we’ve ever done—but what we were singing was precisely the pride deep within our hearts as Chinese citizens.
At 9:00 a.m., we entered through the Meridian Gate and toured the magnificent, solemn, and dazzling Palace Museum. At 4:00 p.m., we ascended the sacred Tiananmen Gate Tower, standing on the reviewing stand from which national leaders had watched the 70th National Day military parade. From there, we gazed into the distance at the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao, the Great Hall of the People, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts. In our minds, historical scenes flashed before our eyes—1911, 1949, 1999, and 2019—each marking a pivotal moment in China’s journey from enduring humiliation to today’s rise as a great power. We vowed never to forget our nation’s past grievances and to keep striving diligently.

On November 24, we took on the challenge of hiking along the Mutianyu Great Wall. Stretching from southeast to northwest atop towering, rugged mountains, the Mutianyu Great Wall winds gracefully through a landscape of gently sloping and steeply rising terrain, with curves and straight stretches alternating seamlessly. As we walked along this undulating stretch of the wall, strong winds buffeted our faces, sapping our energy to such an extent that we often had to use both our hands and feet to keep moving forward. Yet these minor challenges ahead did nothing to dampen our enthusiasm for admiring the beauty of our motherland’s mountains and rivers. From atop the Great Wall, we gazed into the distance at rolling peaks and ranges—dark green mountains that seemed to rise majestically against the backdrop of a clear blue sky dotted with fluffy white clouds. We couldn’t help but exclaim: What a breathtakingly beautiful country—the great beauty of China!
I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity my company has given me—especially since I’ve just arrived in Beijing, where a grand celebration was recently held, making this experience all the more meaningful.
