From August 16 to 19, I was fortunate enough to join the company’s second annual tour for mid-level managers. The serene and tranquil Peach Blossom Garden in Changde, Hunan—far removed from the hustle and bustle—along with Tianmen Mountain, whose majestic peaks seem to have been sculpted by divine hands, and the charming ancient town of Fenghuang, where beauty and modernity blend seamlessly, left an unforgettable impression on me.

On the first day, we visited China’s Peach Blossom Garden in Changde, renowned as the “35th Cave Heaven and 46th Blessed Land” in Taoist tradition. Although, due to the season, we didn’t get to see any peach blossoms, just gazing at the mountains covered with peach trees and the picturesque, layered landscape still allowed us to vividly imagine the romantic scene of blooming peach flowers.
After dinner, take a boat ride to watch “The Tale of the Peach Blossom Spring,” a large-scale, immersive live performance featuring panoramic views of rural life along a majestic stream. The 18 scenic segments are seamlessly linked together by the river’s theater, bringing to life the “secret paradise of Taoyuan”—a place that has long captivated and stirred the hearts of Chinese people for thousands of years.
The next day, we set off early for the highlight of our Hunan trip—Zhangjiajie—and visited Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park.
After a long wait in line, we finally boarded the cable car. As it ascended, it felt as though we were walking along a celestial avenue, soaring straight up through nine layers of clouds. Along the way, we marveled at the breathtaking and extraordinary beauty of Tianmen Mountain—a spectacle that has earned it the reputation of being a marvel of road engineering. Reaching the summit, we stepped onto the Glass Skywalk of Tianmen Mountain—a ghostly trail suspended high above sheer cliffs, with glass viewing platforms seemingly emerging out of thin air. The precipitous cliffs loom dramatically overhead, exuding an awe-inspiring grandeur that leaves one dizzy and awestruck. Walking along the skywalk, besides feeling utterly apprehensive, we also relished the exhilarating sensation of treading lightly upon the clouds.
As we marveled at the extraordinary peaks and precipitous cliffs of Tianmen Mountain, we found ourselves unexpectedly arriving at Tianmen Cave—the world’s highest naturally formed cave through a mountain. Year-round, Tianmen Cave exhales clouds and embraces mist, shaking the world and stirring the hearts of all who behold it. Standing on Tianmen Cave Square and looking down upon the surrounding mountains, I was suddenly overcome with the exhilarating feeling of standing atop the highest peak, gazing out over the world and seeing all other mountains as mere foothills.
On the third day, we visited the world’s highest and longest glass bridge—the Yun Tian Du Glass Bridge. In the evening, we took a night tour of the ancient town of Fenghuang, enjoying the enchanting nighttime scenery along both banks of the Tuo River.
The beauty of mountains and waters—the beauty of nature itself; the beauty of landscapes and paintings—the beauty of artisanal craftsmanship. Though the scenery is finite, creativity knows no bounds—let’s together paint a grand portrait of our motherland.
