The harder you work, the luckier you get—Zhengda Mechanical & Electrical’s Training and Exchange Activities from May 1st to 4th
Time:
2022-07-15
On the same day, different choices lead to different outcomes. While many people are enjoying the May Day holiday, various groups within Zhengda Machinery & Electronics have chosen to “recharge” themselves at different times—demonstrating through their actions and deeds that knowledge is power, and the harder you work, the luckier you’ll be!
There are small, customized coaching and exchange sessions tailored to individual growth; the 11th “The Harder You Work, the Luckier You’ll Be” training program, centered on successors and combining work with leisure; and activities in Fengjian Water Town. There are also financial and team-management training programs designed specifically for core personnel from subsidiary companies; a general manager’s session for “criticism and self-criticism”; as well as company-wide sessions featuring explanations of fraud cases, sharing of poverty-alleviation experiences from Liangshan, and exchanges on “how to read effectively.”
01 Small Tutoring and Exchange Session
At the request of You Rongzhu, General Manager of Dongguan Dasheng, and to help him mentor and support the growth and development of his subordinates and facilitate the implementation of the company’s strategy, the Human Resources Department invited Wang Zhenghu, President of Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd., along with You’s assistant Li Zeyun and five other potential successors, to a roundtable discussion on May 1 at 10:00 a.m. The session was aimed at addressing the challenges and uncertainties they have recently encountered. Three external guests also attended as observers.
02 The 11th Training Session of “The Harder You Work, the Luckier You’ll Be”
From 3:00 p.m. on May 1 to 5:00 p.m. on May 2, Zero One Business School invited Mr. Wang to serve as the instructor and organized the 11th session of the “The Harder You Work, the Luckier You’ll Be” training program for 52 participants—both internal and external to the company—including successors—in the International Conference Center on the 4th floor of Building 1 at Zero One Science and Technology Park. This training marked another course optimization and upgrade after more than a year, making it more systematic, easier to understand, and more practical and relatable. At the same time, it was the largest-ever class since the program’s inception, with participants coming from the widest range of locations—including Hefei, Bengbu, Shenzhen, and other cities—and representing the most extensive scale yet.
General Manager Wang led everyone in a focused study of the company’s “369 Culture.” Drawing on the series of management philosophies developed by Kazuo Inamori, he elaborated in detail how he uses personality, courage, and capability as the three foundational pillars, and employs the Six Principles of Continuous Improvement—diligence, humility, self-reflection, gratitude, doing good deeds, and avoiding negative energy—as his guiding framework. He then applied these principles across nine key areas: strategy, culture, talent, market, finance, platform, R&D, public welfare, and action. Through this deep immersion, he profoundly understood the critical importance of the positive, self-reinforcing cycle of “the harder you work, the luckier you become” for both individual and corporate success.
On the other hand, drawing on his learning experiences at CEIBS and Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, General Manager Wang, in addition to employing group discussion as a learning method during his lectures, encourages everyone to feel free to raise any questions at any time and to engage in frequent communication and exchange.
Everyone felt that they had greatly benefited, a point further confirmed by the post-class feedback survey, which showed very high satisfaction levels.

03 Fengjian Water Town Event
At 6:30 p.m. on May 2, the class committee—led by Zeng Tianjun, Manager of the Shunde Branch, and Li Yuan, Assistant to the General Manager and Logistics Center Manager of Guangdong Lingyi Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Lingyi Industrial)—together with the trainees participating in the Successor Program, invited General Manager Wang to drive together to Fengjian Water Town in Shunde, a place hailed as "the finest water town in Lingnan" and located in Xingtang. Here, lush trees provide ample shade, birds sing sweetly amid fragrant flowers, and quaint little bridges span flowing streams surrounded by traditional homes—truly no less charming than Zhouzhuang. Moreover, this place also boasts culinary delights that will tantalize your taste buds.
As the participants savored the local delicacies, they humbly sought advice and guidance. General Wang patiently shared his knowledge and answered their questions. The food was delicious, and so was the listening—both satisfying the palate and filling the heart with abundant positive energy. This experience offered not only personal insights but also practical lessons through both words and actions, truly embodying the essence of the succession program!
The visit to Shunfengshan Park and the tour of Fengjian Water Village on the morning of May 3rd are simply meant to give us a bit of relaxation, because even more learning lies ahead for us.
04 Thematic Training
On the morning of May 3, a “Financial Training” session for mid-level managers in Changsha was conducted concurrently. Chen Songwen, Deputy Manager of the Finance Department, was invited to serve as the instructor, and Lin Yi, General Manager of Lingyi Industrial (hereinafter referred to as “General Manager Lin”), participated throughout the entire training session as a mentor.
At 2:00 p.m., Lian Canhuan, General Manager of the Siemens Motor Division at Zero One Industry (hereinafter referred to as Mr. Lian), was invited to deliver a lecture titled “Managing Teams.” Drawing on his own real-life experiences, Mr. Lian once again reminded us that all achievements stem from efforts no less than those of anyone else—efforts fueled by relentless perseverance and consistent action.
05 “Criticism and Self-Criticism” Exchange Meeting
From 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on May 4, the company organized a “criticism and self-criticism” exchange meeting for all senior managers and relevant personnel, focusing on topics such as “Why have we reached where we are today? Why aren’t we bigger yet? And how can we become stronger and grow even larger in the next step?” The atmosphere at the meeting was warm and enthusiastic. Leaders from branch companies in other regions, including Dongguan and Xi'an, also volunteered to participate and shared their experiences via video conference. Even after the meeting ended, everyone still felt that the discussion had left them wanting more.
