Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. attended the promotion meeting on winning the battle against poverty in Chancheng District.

On October 17, Chancheng District held a district-wide meeting to advance the battle against poverty. Guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Poverty Alleviation, the meeting emphasized the need to focus tightly on the key and difficult issues in poverty alleviation, carefully summarize experiences, concentrate efforts, innovate mechanisms, and establish a long-term, sustainable mechanism for poverty alleviation. Liu Donghao, Secretary of the District Party Committee, and Kong Haiwen, District Mayor, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Yu Qianbo, Director of the District Party Committee Office, presided over the meeting. Wang Zhenghu, President of Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd., and Huang Xuehua, Director of the Office of Guangdong Lingyi Industrial Technology Co., Ltd., were invited to attend the meeting.
The meeting emphasized that winning the battle against poverty must be treated as a major priority and that we need to firmly uphold the correct direction of the three-year poverty alleviation campaign. The effectiveness of poverty alleviation efforts hinges on the intensity with which we tackle key and difficult tasks. In the new era, as we pursue targeted poverty alleviation and strengthen east-west cooperation in poverty alleviation with Liangshan Prefecture, we must focus on these critical areas and difficulties, adopting a down-to-earth, decisive approach that leaves tangible marks. We should step up investment in industry-based poverty alleviation, employment-driven poverty reduction, and rural revitalization, ensuring that the people truly feel the concrete results and positive changes brought about by our efforts.
Liu Donghao, Secretary of the District Party Committee, believes that the cornerstone of poverty alleviation work lies in establishing a long-term, sustainable mechanism for poverty reduction and helping impoverished areas find paths for sustained development. Chancheng must make efforts on three fronts: first, by providing assistance through education and other means to significantly enhance the employment skills and qualifications of impoverished households; second, by leveraging the unique advantages—such as local resources—of impoverished areas to help them connect with markets; and third, by strengthening the organizational capacity and combat effectiveness of Party organizations in impoverished villages and improving village-level governance.
At the meeting, Vice District Mayor Qu Zheng briefed on the precise poverty alleviation efforts undertaken by Chancheng District in the new era, as well as the paired assistance work between Chancheng District and Liangshan Prefecture. In accordance with the unified deployment of the provincial and municipal authorities, from 2016 to 2018, Chancheng District invested a total of 308 million yuan in fiscal funds for targeted poverty alleviation in Lianjiang City, providing paired assistance to 46 relatively impoverished villages in Lianjiang City. In the context of the east-west poverty alleviation cooperation between Chancheng District and Liangshan Prefecture, 30 enterprises from Chancheng District established paired assistance relationships with a total of 30 villages across three counties in Liangshan Prefecture, providing each village with annual assistance funds totaling 30,000 yuan, amounting to a total of 900,000 yuan per year. Starting from 2018, Chancheng District’s finance has been allocating fiscal funds to the Municipal Finance Bureau at a rate of 35 million yuan per county annually, earmarked for Foshan City’s paired assistance efforts with Liangshan Prefecture under the east-west poverty alleviation cooperation framework.
District Chief Kong Haiwen publicly commended 15 enterprises that donated more than 100,000 yuan on June 30—the “Guangdong (Chancheng) Day for Poverty Alleviation and Helping the Needy”—as well as the 30 enterprises that participated in the “100 Enterprises Help 100 Villages” initiative in 2018 by pairing up with villages in Liangshan Prefecture. Foshan Zhengda Machinery & Electrical Co., Ltd. was awarded the title of “Advanced Unit for Poverty Alleviation Donations in 2018.”
Guangdong Lingyi Industrial Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Lingyi Industrial”), a subsidiary of Zhengda Machinery & Electronics, signed a village-enterprise pairing assistance agreement with Gemo Jing Village, Kui Township, Zhaojue County, Liangshan Prefecture in June 2018, officially establishing a “close partnership.” Lingyi Industrial took the lead in launching the expanded village-enterprise pairing assistance initiative aimed at helping villages achieve moderate prosperity, becoming the first enterprise to complete its pairing assistance task with the corresponding county in Liangshan Prefecture. Lingyi Industrial will continue to provide assistance to Gemo Jing Village in areas such as purchased donation programs, labor cooperation, and educational support.
At this meeting, attendees were also shown a model example of poverty alleviation—the paired assistance provided by the Chancheng District Procuratorate to Nalang Village in Lianjiang City. In recent years, Nalang Village has not only successfully developed rural eco-tourism projects, setting up an outstanding model for Chancheng’s “industry + tourism” approach to poverty alleviation, but under the impetus of resident cadre Zhao Zhiyou, it has established the Nalang Rural Eco-Tourism Specialized Cooperative, adopting a shareholding model led by the Nalang Village Economic Cooperative and involving farmers (including impoverished households). At the event where purchases were used as donations, Huang Xuehua, Director of Zero One Industry, enthusiastically and actively purchased Nalang Village’s agricultural products—honey and lotus seeds.
