Siemens Large Special Motors (Shanxi) Co., Ltd. has launched a new series of high-voltage, high-efficiency motors—the Beide 1MC0 three-phase asynchronous motor. This motor combines both general-purpose features and specialized requirements, achieving an efficiency level that meets China’s Tier-2 energy efficiency standards or the subsidy criteria for high-voltage, high-efficiency motors under the Energy-Saving and Benefit-the-People Program. By reducing energy costs, the additional procurement cost of a new 1MC0 high-efficiency motor can be recouped within just four months compared to a conventional energy-efficient motor. Siemens Enters the Mid-Range High-Voltage Motor Market in China
On September 18, 2014, Siemens Large Special Motors (Shanxi) Co., Ltd. launched in China a high-voltage, high-efficiency motor—the Beide 1MC0 series three-phase asynchronous motor—developed and manufactured in China using German motor technology. This motor fully meets Chinese customers’ demands for energy efficiency levels and reliability when selecting high-efficiency motors. Its launch marks the official entry of Siemens Large Special Motors (Shanxi) Co., Ltd. into the mid-range market for high-voltage motors in China.
The Beide 1MC0 series three-phase asynchronous motor is a high-voltage motor that integrates both universal applicability and specialized requirements. It is an ideal drive motor for various types of mechanical equipment, including fans, pumps, compressors, winches, centrifuges, crushers, and rubber and plastic machinery. Thanks to its highly efficient energy-saving technology, this motor meets China’s Level 2 energy efficiency standard or the subsidy criteria for high-efficiency, energy-saving motors under the “Energy-Saving Benefits the People” initiative. Compared with conventional high-voltage motors of lower energy efficiency, the additional procurement cost of a new 1MC0 high-efficiency motor can be recouped within just four months due to the savings in energy costs.
The high-voltage insulation system of the Beide 1MC0 series motors employs MICALASTIC® insulation technology—world-leading technology that ensures exceptionally long service life even under harsh operating conditions such as high humidity, thermal exposure, chemical corrosion, or dusty environments. The reliability of this technology has been thoroughly validated in a wide range of demanding applications, including nuclear power plants, and has been certified by the American Petroleum Institute (API). This motor boasts a compact design and high power density, not only saving installation space for customers but also representing the most advanced level of motor design and manufacturing currently available in China.

This company is a joint venture established on July 1, 2013, between Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. and Shanxi Lu'an Mining Group. Located in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province, the company primarily specializes in the production of large-scale high-voltage asynchronous and synchronous motors, generators, and various types of specialized explosion-proof motors.
Following the launch of the Beide 1MC0 motor, Siemens Large Special Motors (Shanxi) Co., Ltd. will also successively introduce high-voltage explosion-proof motors and other specialized motors. These new products are primarily designed to meet the needs of mid-range market customers in China. They are engineered using German technology and comply with relevant Chinese national standards and industry standards.
