“Riding the winds and waves, stepping toward the world”—the mid-year summary conference of Foshan Zhengda Mechanical & Electrical (Group) Co., Ltd. was held from July 20 to 21 at the Discovery Bay Hotel in Hong Kong. Attendees included: Zhengda Machinery & Electrical Co., Ltd. President Wang Zhenghu, General Manager Lin Yi of Zero One Industrial Company, General Manager Shi Hao of the Bearing Company, and General Manager Lei Yuqiang of Zero One Real Estate Company. Zhengda Machinery & Electrical Co., Ltd. Director Zhao Haijun from the Human Resources Department, Deputy Director Ni Xuefeng from the Finance Department, and more than 40 mid- and high-level managers from various subsidiary companies.
At noon on July 20, the participants arrived punctually at the Discovery Bay Hotel on Lantau Island in Hong Kong. Everyone was struck by the island’s lush greenery, clear blue skies dotted with fluffy white clouds, and its serene, harmonious atmosphere. The hotel is nestled by the seaside, perched against the hills yet overlooking the sea, with a distant view of Hong Kong Island. Far from the hustle and bustle, it was truly delightful and relaxing! That afternoon was free time, during which everyone enjoyed the hotel’s various recreational facilities. In the late afternoon, we gathered for a group photo at the church next to the hotel, followed by a delicious dinner. During the meal, Zhengda Machinery & Electrical Co., Ltd. In his speech, Director Zhao Haijun from the Human Resources Department explained the reason behind President Wang Zhenghu’s invitation for us to hold our meeting in Hong Kong—namely, President Wang’s three major dreams: 1. That Zhengda could hold meetings overseas; 2. That Zhengda could own its own large-scale office building; and 3. That Zhengda could have its own golf course. Now it seems that President Wang has already helped us realize the first two dreams. We are confident that, with our continued efforts, Zhengda’s dream of having its own golf course will surely come true as well.
In the evening, we held discussions in five small groups. All participants actively engaged, and President Wang even joined the discussion on the automation system, greatly benefiting everyone.
On the morning of July 21, the 2014 Mid-Year Summary Meeting officially kicked off. First, Lin Yi, General Manager of Zero One Industrial Company, delivered a summary report on the company’s performance for the first half of the year: First, sales in the first half increased by 13% compared to the same period last year. Second, in terms of profit, profits steadily rose in the first half, and the six subsidiaries under Zero One Industrial Company have already achieved their annual profit targets. Third, looking ahead to the second half of the year: 1. We must never lose our awareness of risk management; 2. Each general manager needs to correctly define their role, reassess their own management capabilities and those of their respective companies, and make sound career plans; 3. We should strengthen team development, especially the cultivation of key personnel who serve as industry benchmarks; 4. We must enhance the added value of our sales.
Following that, General Manager Shi Hao from the bearing company gave a work summary for the first half of the year, while Manager Feng Qingchong shared SKF bearings’ potential in the automotive service market. In his speech, General Manager Lei Yuqiang from Lingyi Real Estate introduced the progress and highlights of the Lingyi Science and Technology Park project, noting that sales are expected to begin in August of this year and the project is set to be put into use in the first half of next year. Afterwards, each working group reported on the outcomes of their discussions from the previous evening.
Finally, President Wang Zhenghu delivered a keynote speech, sharing his views on the macroeconomic environment and outlining the future development plans for Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. Mr. Wang expressed gratitude to managers at all levels and all employees for their hard work in the first half of the year, and encouraged everyone to keep up the good work. With this, the 2014 Mid-Year Summary Meeting of Foshan Zhengda Machinery & Electronics Co., Ltd. came to a successful conclusion.
After the afternoon of July 21, we had some free time in Hong Kong. Some of us went shopping to our heart’s content, others went out for fun, and still others set off to discover local delicacies—everyone had a great time and was thoroughly enjoying themselves!
