After learning about the planning and positioning of the ZeroOne Industrial Science and Technology Park, Professor Huang offered constructive suggestions on its business model and praised the company’s innovative approach to business. Subsequently, the company’s leaders and external guests engaged in a pleasant exchange with Professor Huang Ming in the company’s conference room and at the Heng’an Swiss Grand Hotel, creating a warm and harmonious atmosphere at the event.
As a tenured professor of finance at Cornell University in the United States, Professor Huang Ming has previously taught at the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago and the Stanford Graduate School of Business. After returning to China, he taught successively at Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business and CEIBS. His extensive academic experience, coupled with years of close interactions with top entrepreneurs in the industry, have enabled Professor Huang Ming to maintain both deep immersion and broad mobility across the business, financial, and academic communities in both China and the U.S. As a result, he has gained insights into economic, financial, and humanistic issues that others find difficult to perceive, and has grasped the essential truths that others tend to overlook.
Based on this, Professor Huang Ming has a profound understanding of the differences and gaps between China and the United States—the two superpowers. Moreover, he believes that for China’s entrepreneurial community to achieve leapfrog development and ensure the long-term sustainability of their enterprises, they must broaden their horizons. At the same time, they should consciously cultivate an international perspective among the next generation of business leaders. As an example, he points out that Samsung’s current success is closely tied to the international exposure and broadened perspectives of the next generation of its founder. He suggests that, where conditions permit, employees’ children should complete high school or university education in China before pursuing further studies in the United States. Only after returning home will they be able to adapt to China’s national context and develop an internationally-minded outlook.
Professor Huang Ming not only focuses on academic research and teaching but also actively puts his research findings into practice, applying them in real-world settings. Three years ago, drawing on his many years of experience in both financial theory and practice, Professor Huang Ming established a private equity fund. Today, this fund has grown to a considerable size both in mainland China and Hong Kong and has already achieved positive social impact and excellent investment returns. Group leaders and external guests also engaged in discussions with Professor Huang Ming on various topics related to the fund’s operations.
