Party Branch Activity: "Focus on the Present, Look Toward the Future"

To strengthen the ideological development of the Party branch and enhance learning and exchange among Party members, and to better leverage the exemplary role of Party members, the Party branch of Foshan Zhengda Mechanical & Electrical (Group) Co., Ltd. organized a one-day tour to Guangzhou’s iconic landmarks. This event also specially invited Deputy Secretary Zhao Shouyi from the Organization Office of Zhangcha Subdistrict to provide guidance on our company’s Party building work, enabling us to more closely respond to the Party’s most advanced and innovative calls. By visiting these cultural heritage sites firsthand, we can deeply appreciate the historical traces and profound cultural legacy; and by exploring today’s technologically advanced buildings, we can look forward with confidence to the future global breakthroughs. The activity consisted of visits and experiences at three different sites.

The activity consisted of visits and experiences at three different sites.
The first stop—Xin Lizhi Bay, one of the Eight Scenic Spots of Yangcheng. Locals in Guangzhou affectionately call it “a bay of green stream water, with lychee trees glowing red on both banks.” During the Tang Dynasty, this spot was home to the famed garden attraction known as “Liyuan.” In the Southern Han period, a royal garden called “Changhuayuan” was also built here. Whenever the lychees ripened, the emperor, his consorts, and court officials would come here to enjoy the fruits and revel in festivities, an occasion famously dubbed the “Red Square Red Feast.” Right next to Lizhi Bay, in the Pantang Food Garden, you’ll find a bustling array of time-honored eateries brimming with the authentic charm of Xiguan. Besides the nationally recognized “time-honored brand” Panxi Restaurant, Cantonese cuisine restaurants like “Xiguan Shijia” and “Guangzhou Zhi Jia,” there are also numerous authentic snack shops. Here, as you stroll through the ancient architecture and soak up the historic ambiance, you can savor delicious little pastries—truly a feast for both body and soul, leaving you utterly satisfied and delighted.
The second stop—Huangpu Ancient Port—is located in Shiji Village, Pazhou Subdistrict, Xingang East Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou City today. Legend has it that in ancient times, a pair of phoenixes once flew down to this very spot, after which the village prospered and enjoyed bountiful harvests of the five grains. The village is situated on a small island; the area along the water is called “Pu,” and the landmass surrounded by water is known as “Zhou.” Thus, the village was originally named “Huangzhou” or “Fengpu,” which later evolved into the name “Huangpu.” Today, this place has become a charming little island village. As we stroll through it, we seem to catch a glimpse of the simple yet prosperous life once led by its villagers. We’re also fortunate enough to sample some of the region’s famous local delicacies, such as the well-known boat-riding congee.
The final stop—Guangzhou TV Tower—stands at the intersection of Guangzhou’s New Central Axis and the Pearl River Scenic Axis. With a total height of 600 meters, it is currently the world’s tallest observation tower dedicated to television broadcasting. Of this, the main tower structure itself rises to 450 meters, while the antenna mast adds another 150 meters. Situated precisely at the heart of the New Central Axis, the Guangzhou New TV Tower brings the grandeur of the central axis’s architectural ensemble to its ultimate climax. Seen from afar, the tower’s graceful silhouette resembles that of a young woman turning her head—a shape often described as having a “small waist” and reminiscent of an evening gown. As we gaze upward at this majestic TV tower, we are struck by our own insignificance. Yet it is precisely through humanity’s seemingly small yet profound wisdom and cutting-edge science that we continue to create one marvel after another.
Time always slips away unnoticed, and the day’s visit—part of our Party Day activity—is drawing to a close. On the bus heading home, Party members are chatting and laughing, passionately discussing what they’ve experienced, yet also quietly slipping into moments of reflection and deep contemplation...
