| To gain a better understanding of the current state of industrial automation and related manufacturing industries, and to draw on the experiences of external peers in industrial park project planning and commercial property development, on January 6, 2014, a delegation of more than ten company leaders—including Mr. Mai Dazhang, Chairman of Foshan Zhengda Mechanical & Electrical (Group) Co., Ltd.; Mr. Wang Zhenghu, President; Mr. Lin Yi, General Manager of Guangdong Lingyi Industrial Technology Co., Ltd.; and Mr. Lei Yuqiang, General Manager of Guangdong Lingyi Real Estate Co., Ltd.—accepted an invitation from relevant leaders of Midea Group (stock code: 000333) and visited Midea Group for an exchange visit. At 10 a.m. on January 6, leaders from various organizations arrived at the Malong Base of Midea Group’s Microwave Oven Company, located in Beijiao Town, Shunde District, Foshan City, for a visit and exchange. The Malong Base of Midea Group’s Microwave Oven Company covers an area of 430 mu and has an annual production capacity exceeding 25 million microwave ovens, making it the world’s largest manufacturing base for microwave appliances. Led by Mr. Luo Yufeng, the plant director of Midea Microwave Oven Company, the delegation toured the company’s injection molding workshop, sheet-metal workshop, and final assembly workshop. At the injection molding and sheet-metal workshops, participants observed numerous automated production lines, including robotic conveyors. In the final assembly workshop, they saw a 2,000-square-meter assembly line dedicated to Japanese and Korean products, entirely composed of modular lean tubes. According to the person in charge, the adoption of this lean-tube-based production line was driven by the need for flexible, small-batch, multi-variety production. This 2,000-square-meter production line can be completely relocated and reassembled within a single day. Although the final assembly workshop had slightly more personnel on the line, the production site maintained perfect order and efficiency. From time to time, one or two robotic transport vehicles could be seen steadily moving back and forth within designated areas, transporting raw materials and finished products. At 11:30 a.m., accompanied by the project leaders from Midea Group’s headquarters building, the company’s leadership team toured, in succession, the underground parking garage, the underground central warehouse, the property management center’s control room, the ground-level landscaping, the Midea employee cafeteria, the Midea product exhibition center, the Midea History Museum, and the Midea Conference Center—all located in the central urban area of Beijiao Town, at Midea Group’s headquarters building. At 1:30 p.m., Mr. Mai and President Wang, along with their delegation, held a meeting in the conference room on the third floor of Midea Group’s headquarters building. They exchanged views with leaders including Mr. Zhong Fan, General Manager of the Midea Headquarters Building Project Department, and Ms. Cai Jiezheng, General Manager of First Pacific Davies, the property management company for Midea’s headquarters building. During the meeting, Mr. Zhong Fan highlighted Midea’s approach to functional layout, smart technologies, energy efficiency, environmental protection, and property management during the early planning and design stages of the headquarters building. He also shared valuable experiences and lessons learned from both the construction phase and the post-completion period of the Midea headquarters building, covering aspects such as planning, design, and property management. In addition, Mr. Mai and President Wang briefed the Midea leadership on the current business status and strategic plans of the (Group) company, and engaged in an exchange with them regarding the overall vision for the Zero One Industrial Park in terms of functional positioning, planning and design, and building certification. At 3 p.m., the company’s leadership team successfully concluded their visit and exchange with Midea Group. Meanwhile, both sides also agreed to engage in further and more in-depth exchanges in the future on topics such as industrial park project planning and commercial property development. |
