Steadily Enhancing, Jointly Creating Brilliance—The 4th Training Session of the CPME Reserve Cadre Program Concludes Successfully

Steadily advancing, learning to support and guide, and jointly creating brilliance. From March 4 to 6, 2022, the trainees of the Reserve Cadre Class—part of the echelon talent development program—began a new phase of training and learning following their stage-wise growth report on January 24. This training session was held in Qingyuan, a place renowned for its picturesque mountains and clear waters. The overall content was divided into four parts: scenic area experiences, thematic training, exchange and debate sessions, and participant sharing. Lin Yi, General Manager of Zero One Industrial (hereinafter referred to as “General Manager Lin”), Lian Canhuan, General Manager of Siemens Motor Division (hereinafter referred to as “General Manager Lian”), and Peng Jinsong, General Manager of Zhengda Automation (hereinafter referred to as “General Manager Peng”)—all three instructors—fully participated in this event.

On the morning of March 4, the trainees set off together for the Gulong Gorge Scenic Area—a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Through the breathtaking natural scenery, they broadened their horizons and enriched their knowledge. Among the area’s famous “internet-famous check-in spots”—such as the suspended glass platform, the glass suspension bridge, and the cascade of waterfalls—were especially thrilling experiences that allowed the trainees to personally savor the poetic sentiment of “When I reach the summit, all other mountains seem small,” offering an exhilarating and adventurous thrill.

On the afternoon of March 4, the course “Reporting Upward,” taught by General Lin, was held in the Sheraton Conference Hall at Shizihu, marking the first session of this training! General Lin shared key insights on the forms and methods of upward reporting, preparation for such reports, the reporting process itself, follow-up feedback, and final summarization—providing participants with a wealth of valuable and practical knowledge. He also conducted a quiz to engage the participants and encourage interactive discussions. This course helped everyone become more qualified subordinates who earn their leaders’ trust and peace of mind, while also inspiring core team leaders on how to better guide their respective teams toward future growth and development.

On March 5, before the training began, the participants quickly gathered at 6:30 a.m. and embarked on a morning run along the lush green paths in the Lion Lake Resort. As they exercised, they breathed in the fresh morning air, admired the stunning surrounding scenery, and created a harmonious scene where humanity and nature intertwined.

That same morning, General Peng delivered a lecture titled “Listening, Speaking, and Asking Questions.” First, General Peng clarified for the participants the difference between hearing and truly listening, defined what “listening” means, and emphasized the importance of effective listening. He then engaged in interactive discussions with the participants, jointly exploring the major barriers that hinder listening and sharing practical listening techniques. He highlighted that the essence of listening lies in acceptance and that we must learn to “appreciate” others. Following this, General Peng provided detailed guidance on appropriate speaking styles, target audiences, and communication techniques, thereby empowering the participants to better apply “results-oriented communication.”

In the afternoon, General Lian kicked off the “Social Etiquette Skills” course with a passionately delivered presentation. Social etiquette isn't limited merely to dining and drinking; rather, it also encompasses how we interact with others in our daily lives. Addressing the practical questions and challenges that participants face at work, General Lian continuously provided real-life case studies and role-played various scenarios, enabling participants to quickly master social etiquette skills for different situations. Moreover, he guided the participants to use fair and skillful communication techniques in their future interactions, helping them better shape their professional image and advance their careers more effectively.

    Debate Section

On the evening of March 5, the trainees participated in the inaugural Employee Handbook Quote Debate Competition. Teams of two each took on either the affirmative or negative stance and engaged in heated debates. During the rebuttal phase, contestants from both sides drew extensively on classic texts and logical arguments, fiercely defending their positions. The entire competition was full of thrilling moments and continuous excitement!

    Student Sharing Section

Put what you’ve learned into practice and make steady progress. On March 6, the trainees took to the podium to share their insights, exchanging ideas about the knowledge they’d gained and the inspiration they’d received over the past few days, and engaging in lively intellectual discussions about their personal reflections. After each group of trainees shared their learnings and insights, the mentors responsible for developing the next-generation talent provided targeted feedback and suggestions one after another. Mr. Lin also noted that, following the previous training sessions, the trainees’ presentation skills had improved significantly.

This reserve cadre training was both enriching and exciting. In addition to the original thematic sessions, we’ve introduced a morning jogging segment, enabling participants to stay physically fit while acquiring new knowledge. We’ve also launched the first-ever Employee Handbook Quote Exchange and Debate, giving participants a deeper understanding of the company’s corporate culture. Moreover, the three thematic sessions this time were closely interconnected in content, directly addressing the various challenges that our trainees face in their daily work.

We believe that each training session will serve as a fresh starting point for our participants. They will wholeheartedly absorb the knowledge they need, strive to elevate their intellectual horizons and enhance their overall capabilities, put what they learn into practice, work together with one heart and mind, and roll up their sleeves to deliver concrete results—thus propelling our future work to even greater heights!
